PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "WAR THAT WAS NOT. CHRONICLE OF ILOVAISK TRAGEDY»

 

February 20, 2019, on the basis of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, an open curatorial hour with students from all faculties was dedicated to the presentation of the book by Roman Zinenko "War That Was Not. Chronicle of  Ilovaisk tragedy ". The author of the book, a former volunteer battalion "Dnipro-1", was among those who were in Ilovaisk Hill in August 2014. He was not only survived, but also wrote one of the first books on the war in the East of Ukraine.
Students, teachers breathlessly listened to the honest and frank story of an eyewitness who did not invent anything, but tried to be frank and accurate in assessing those events. The new book by Roman Zinenka is the result of a thorough study based on the memoirs of about hundred fighters and officers, from volunteers to senior management of the sector "B", participants of the Ilovaisk tragedy. In addition, the author had to revise and chronologically disassemble hundreds of video and photo publications related to the battles near Ilovaisk.
With great interest and anxiety, the participants of the meeting listened to the speech of Roman Zinenko, asked a lot of questions. The author of the book called on the youth to bring up courage and patriotism in their hearts, to believe in the victory of Ukraine.

In the meeting, which took place thanks to the insistence of the head of the department of the operation of the machine-tractor park of Associate Professor Alexei Derkach, the battle brothers of the author of the book - Bogdan Kushnerik (battalion "Dnipro-1"), Ridvan Mustafayev (79th separate assault brigade), Oleksandr Kutsevol (58th separate motorized infantry brigade) and Andriy Zelensky (25th separate airborne brigade). With joy, pride and gratitude, students and teachers congratulated the author of the book and guests of the event, who for many months defended Ukraine from external aggression, defended the honor of our Motherland.
