MANUFACTURING AND PROMOTION OF LOCAL PRODUCTS - A NEW DIRECTORATE OF COOPERATION WITH THE ESA D'ANGERS
In early October, the College of Agriculture in Angers, France (École supérieure d'agricultures d'Angers http://www.groupe-esa.com) hosted international relations professionals from 10 countries (Africa, Europe, Latin America) ). Our university was represented by Irina Volovik, who shared her impressions:
“The seminar was organized for ESA partners in order to develop an internationalization strategy and to seek forms of cooperation. The days were full of trainings, group work, workshops and business visits.
Some interesting facts about ESA: This is a private higher education institution that has been training professionals for plant, animal, agrarian, environmental, landscape, viticulture and winemaking for over 120 years. ESA is one of four higher education consortium colleges with a total of 6,000 students. The training is carried out under the programs for bachelors, masters, doctors of philosophy and a special program, graduates of which receive a diploma of engineer.
It is interesting that in order to obtain an engineer diploma it is necessary to study for 5 years, and in fact this diploma is the equivalent of the Ukrainian diploma of "specialist", which we refused. Bachelor’s program last 3 years, master’s programs last 2 years. A bachelor can get a diploma in professional training, and 85% start working immediately. And you can choose a bachelor's program that is customized for research and at its completion 85% of graduates go to graduate school. Most French students choose professional programs. The tuition is paid, but interestingly, in the structure of the university budget, 40% of the revenues are public funds, 40% - the funds of companies and only 20% comes from tuition fees.
The French students are very hard-working – their classes last until 6-7 pm. The truth is that they used to eat for an hour and a half, because the French relish life in a literal and figurative sense. "
What are the prospects for cooperation with ESA?
“We have found many strategic interests in common, including the DualDegree Project, which will allow our undergraduate students to start their Master’s Degree in Master of Food Identity in France and specialize in managing and promoting local products (cheeses, beverages, recycled products from vegetables and fruits).
It is clear that such training requires French and English language training, and linguistic internships and additional training courses will be an integral part of this program. The plans are to open a Linguistic Atelier, where students and teachers will be able to overcome the language barrier and start speaking in foreign languages in a free format and open space. This technique is already used in the ESA and produces excellent results.
We will also promote consulting and training services for Dnipro producers of local products for the organization of study trips, conducting workshops and joint projects in the direction of "Consume Local". Loire Valley farmers and ESA experts can share their experience in producing regional products known worldwide.
So, stay tuned, learn French and get ready for new programs! ”
